Oily is extremely pleased (actually we are freaking out) to announce the release of Habit #1 by Josh Simmons. This is Oily’s first step into producing some larger books not our usual mini comic format. Habit #1 will be debuting in Chicago at CAKE on June 15-16. Mr. Simmons will be hanging out at the Oily table signing copies of Habit #1.
Look at that cover. Just look at it! That is how you will be feeling this June if you decide to ride with Josh’s Habit #1. This comic book is 52 pages with 5 different stories form Josh and his collaborators. Get ready, children.

cakechicago: Howdy folks, could I get a moment of your time? Open Space, a fine gallery and artists studio space in Baltimore, caught fire last month. Last years CAKE special guest Chris Day (Closed Caption Comics) printing set-up was badly damaged in the fire, as well as many others studio spaces. This space also housed CCC house band Witch Hat’s practice space as well. If you have the means, please please send a check made out to “MICA” to Sarah Konigsburg, 1300 W. Mt. Royal Avenue, Baltimore MD 21217 to help these fine folks get back on their feet. Please contact openspacebaltimore@gmail.com if you have any questions.
